(April 16, 2021) — The House Financial Services Committee is scheduled to markup a number of bills dealing with ESG disclosure and board diversity of public companies, as well as requirements for companies to disclose certain political contributions. The committee will also consider a bill to mandate participation by SEC-regulated entities in SEC surveys regarding diversity data. These bills will place further pressure on the SEC to swiftly enact mandates related to ESG, climate change, and corporate diversity.
